Sharjah24: To enhance the sustainability efforts sought by the country in all fields, the Dibba Al Hisn Parents Council of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, organised a workshop entitled "Environmental Sustainability: The Ghaf Tree, Icon of the Past."
The workshop, organised as part of the strategic plan of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, was conducted in collaboration with the Dibba Al-Hisn Club as part of their summer activity, under the theme, "Our Unconventional Vacation" activities." The workshop encouraged the adoption of partnership approaches and community development roles.
The session was led by heritage researcher Mohammed Rashid Rashood, who emphasized the importance of the Ghaf tree in fostering environmental sustainability, representing a national symbol of tolerance in the country. Rashood also underscored the significance of the Ghaf trees in combating desertification, shedding light on its green beauty with its useful strong wood.
A competition was held on one of the electronic applications to support the workshop's goals of raising participants' knowledge of sustainable development, notably in environmental conservation and tree preservation.
