Sharjah24: Sharjah Museums Authority organises its unique annual programme “Museums Ambassadors” for young people aged 13-17 for the period from Monday 14 August to Thursday 17 August 2023, for a maximum capacity of 20 participants, at the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, the Sharjah Aquarium, and the Sharjah Archaeology Museum. Registration is open from 24th July to 8th August 2023.
The qualitative programme in its fifteenth session aims to focus on guidance in museums to promote this culture, which has become a unique feature of Sharjah museums. participants will also learn about lots of guidance secrets from 09:00 am to 01:00 pm over a period of four days, allowing the partakers to become ambassadors to the museums of Sharjah.
Participants will be briefed on improving communication, guidance and dialogue skills with museums visitors, as well as describing museum’s collection for different groups in the society, and teaching with objects.
Participants will be trained to develop public speaking and communication skills, and promote the museum guiding profession through a series of work that addresses the various skills required of a museum guide.
Arabic should be the participant’s first language, with knowledge of English Language. The participants should have good communication skills and should have the ability to work in group, while adhering to the programme timings.
