Al Mazrouei Award attracts more than 50 participants

Sharjah24: Hamdan Khamis Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Khamis Al Mazrouei Award for Dates, revealed the participation of more than 50 farms and companies in the third edition of the award, which was launched on Saturday in Wadi Al Helo region, in the presence of Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in Kalba.
Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of Sharjah Ruler in Kalba, attended on Saturday, the third edition of Khamis Al Mazrouei Award for Dates, which was held in the Heritage Village in Wadi Al Helo.

The award activities were attended by Khamis Saeed Al Mazrouei, Governor of Wadi Al Helo, His Excellency Dr. Sulaiman Sarhan Al Zaabi, Head of the Municipal Affairs Department of the Sharjah Government, Her Excellency Shatha Saeed Allay, Member of the Federal National Council, Eng. Abdul Rahman Al Naqbi, Director of the Municipality of Kalba City, and a number of officials and residents of the Eastern Region.

He added that the award comprised many competitions, including the competition for the most beautiful date basket and the largest date palm tree.  The award motivated participants to compete with their crops including dates, mangos, figs, lemons, and other fruits and citrus fruits.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee praised the keenness of a large number of government institutions to participate in the activities of the award, including the Kalba City Municipality, the Department of Culture, the Wadi Al-Helo Library, the Wadi Al-Helo Ladies Club, and other institutions.
