Directors from the Sharjah Chamber, Al Wusta Channel, and the festival's organisers were also present at the press conference.
The seventh session's events and prize value of overAED 800 thousand were revealed by the festival's organising committee.
With the visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in mind, Mphammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi emphasised that the Chamber's adoption and sponsorship of the Al Dhaid Date Festival is a commitment to provide all forms of support to farmers and to develop local industries based on dates, upgrading them, and raising the quality of the Emirati product.
Al Awadhi noted that this year's edition is particularly noteworthy since it falls during the state's strategic year of sustainability and that agriculture and dates are among the most significant factors in improving national food security.
Since its inaugural year in 2016, the Al Dhaid Date Festival has been one of the most prominent economic, tourism, heritage, and promotional initiatives on the annual map of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s activities, with the stated goal of bolstering Al Dhaid's position in the agricultural wealth sector in order to aid in the development process in the eastern and central regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.
