UOS Signs MoU with Gulf Craft

Sharjah24: The College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD) at the University of Sharjah (UoS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gulf Craft, one of the world’s leading boat and yacht manufacturers, with the aim of cooperation in developing mutually beneficial projects and initiatives, providing internship opportunities for students. The MoU was signed by the Dean of CFAD, Prof. Nadia Mehdi Alhasani, and on behalf of “Gulf Craft” by Abeer AlShaali, Deputy Managing Director.
The MoU stipulates that the joint cooperation between the two entities will focus on developing mutual projects, providing internship opportunities, exchanging knowledge, experiences, capabilities, skills and resources in areas of mutual interest. In addition to involvement in professional practice courses and extracurricular activities such as workshops, exhibitions, competitions.

Prof. Nadia Mehdi Alhasani warmly welcomed this joint cooperation with “Gulf Craft”, stressing the importance of cooperation with various governmental and private companies, as part of CFAD’s goals and strategic plan to provide all opportunities that contributes to highlighting student’s capabilities, developing their practical skills in various fields, in order to prepare them for the job market. 

Abeer AlShaali, Deputy Managing Director, Gulf Craft said: “Through this MoU, we envision a platform where industry expertise and academic excellence merge, bringing forth new ideas, insights, and advancements. The University of Sharjah's esteemed faculty and research capabilities, coupled with Gulf Craft's decades of experience in boat manufacturing and design, will create a synergy that propels our industry forward.”

“We believe that investing in education, research, and development is the key to unlocking the full potential of the maritime sector. This collaboration will provide opportunities for students to gain practical experience, engage in real-world projects, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the industry. It is our shared commitment to nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and driving progress that drives this partnership.” She added.

The signing ceremony was attended from CFAD side by Dr. Ayman Fathy Ashour Chair of the Department of Applied Design, Dr. Izmer Bin Ahmad, Chair the Department of Fine Arts, Dr. Karima Mohamed Abdelaziz, Assistant Professor, and Ms. Rita Abou Haidar, Visiting Lecturer. In addition to Mr. Alexander Souabni, Marketing Manager, Gulf Craft.
