Mohammed Rashid bin Bayat, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Charity International, and Rashid Salem Al Nuaimi, Director of the Islamic Affairs Department in Khorfakkan, along with officials from the municipal council and SCI, and a large number of worshippers from the local community, attended the opening of the mosque, the first of the society's mosques in the city of Khorfakkan.
Mohammed Rashid bin Bayat, the society's vice chairman of the board of directors, has said that the "Khalad bin Saeed" Mosque is one of several new mosques being built in locations without existing ones.
The mosque's stunning architecture is a synthesis of Islamic tradition and cutting-edge construction techniques. The completed building is 382 square metres in size and has enough room for roughly 275 male worshippers.
Bin Bayat explained that the initiative is the end result of combining efforts with other organisations for the greater good.
