Sharjah 24: “When His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, my father, founded the AUS - College of Engineering (CEN) 25 years ago, it was against advice that the time wasn't right. Today, the wisdom of his decision to persevere with his vision is plain. CEN is one of the region’s foremost engineering institutions, climbing from 18 students in its first intake to more than 2,300 today,” Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, President of the American University of Sharjah (AUS), on LinkedIn.

She added, “CEN has rapidly grown in size, prominence, and impact, expanding the campus with cutting-edge facilities, establishing prestigious research chairs, and winning international recognition for its educational excellence. Programs available today include seven undergraduate and nine master’s degrees, and a PhD. And we recently launched 'CEN2.0', a plan to refresh existing programs and introduce new ones.”

“Supporting education is a long game, but in 25 years AUS CEN has become a vibrant hothouse cultivating thousands of minds so they can flourish in the world and contribute to a better tomorrow,” Sheikha Bodour concluded.
