Sharjah24: Amman hosted a ceremony honouring the winners of the 26th session of the 20th edition of the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity (SAAC) – First Edition, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

The event is organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs, in cooperation with the Jordanian Ministry of Culture.

The honouring ceremony was held at the National Library, on Wednesday, in Amman, amid great celebration, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, and Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Qaseer, Director Director of the Cultural Affairs Department, Secretary-General of the Award, several dignitaries, and a gathering of Jordanian and Arab intellectuals, writers, and academics.

Sharjah is keen to invite previous winners to witness the honouring of the new winners, creating a great creative and cultural impact.

The expansion and movement of the award in the Arab world reflects the vision of the Sharjah cultural project, in order for the cultural benefit to spread in all countries of the Arab world.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah directed to hold the celebration of the winners in various Arab countries, in line with the smiling emirate’s cultural project.

Nidal Ayasrah, the representative of the Ministry of Culture, stressed that Jordan’s hosting of the award promote the cooperation between the Sharjah Department of Culture and the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, expanding more horizons for cultural and creative work between the two sides, reflecting the initiative of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, aiming to promote fruitful and constructive cooperation. 

The representative of the Ministry of Culture, added that the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity is a pioneering project, shedding light on its role in honing the talents of young men and women in the Arab world.

During the honouring ceremony, His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of continuing Arab cultural activities, emphasising that such gestures strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and love. 

Conveying the congratulations of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to the winners, he has further expressed his deep thanks for the fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.

Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais and Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Qaseer, accompanied by Nidal Ayasrah, in the presence of dignitaries, handed out the certificates of appreciation, honouring the winners in recognition of their creative efforts.
