Sharjah24: The " SANID " program of the Emirates Foundation organised on Thursday an initiative entitled "Civil Protection and Safety", in cooperation with the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs of the Government of Sharjah, in Al Subaihiya Suburb Council in Khorfakkan. Jassim Al Harami, regional coordinator of the " SANID " program, confirmed that the initiative aims to raise awareness of society’s segments about how to deal with crises and emergency situations, promoting the culture of volunteering among people.
He stated that the initiative targets the various emirates of the country, aiming to enhance community awareness of the importance of volunteering and how to face crises and emergencies. He added that the initiative also highlights first aid and traffic safety.
He stressed during his statements to "Sharjah 24" that the initiative targets volunteers of both genders, citizens and residents with 18 years old or over.
Al Harami added that the initiative also instructs the participants on how to save the injured in accidents and provide first aid, in a theoretical and practical way, in addition to training them on how to lead the group in emergency situations.
