Sharjah Award for Arab Poetry Criticism announces its 3rd title

Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the General Secretariat of the Sharjah Award for Arabic Poetry Criticism announced “The Structure of Poetic Discourse in Contemporary Arabic Poetry” as the title of the third edition of the award.
The award is organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Sharjah Department of Culture.

This came during a meeting held by the General Secretariat of the Sharjah Department of Culture to choose the title of the new edition, and to open the door for participation in the subject of the award for writers, critics, and those interested in criticising Arabic poetry, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the award.

His Excellency Abdullah Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Culture, stated that since its inception, the award has strengthened, under the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, the presence of critical research in Arabic poetry, and granted a new critical vision with its diversity of titles, as it raises topics related to the most prominent issues of poetry. 

His Excellency added that the third edition of the award points out the importance of this vital field in literary criticism, because it gives a wide horizon to the Arab writer, as it stands before prominent titles that put the Arabic poem within a new reading of poetic texts, and the transformations in Its creative and artistic structure, and all the symbolic, semantic, intellectual, philosophical, and contemplative references that poetry carries.

The award comes in the context of caring for Arab poetry, and stimulating the energies of critics and those interested in studies oriented towards the poetic experience, in order to serve the Arab creative arena.
