Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Municipality (SM) announced the start of issuing permits to sell food during daylight hours during the month of Ramadan and offering them for sale to non-Muslim communities.
This also includes permits to display food in front of shops before breakfast time for restaurants, cafeterias, pastry shops and bakeries.
In this context, Adel Omar Salem, Acting Director of Public Health and Central Laboratories, confirmed that the SM began receiving applications for those wishing to issue these permits, and allocated the office of the Food Control Department in the Suburban Affairs Department in Industrial Area 5, to receive applications and pay the necessary fees, as the municipality provided the tools and work cadres to issue permits to public, providing the service in a short time.
He noted that the municipality will, through the inspection teams of the Food Control Department, follow up all food sites and establishments to ensure their compliance with these controls, issue the permits, and take the necessary measures against non-compliance, according to the approved sanctions list.
