During today's festivities, the Sharjah International Airport Authority honoured journalists and media outlets for their vital contributions to the dissemination of news and information to the public, both domestically and globally, as announced by the authority's chairman, Ali Salem Al Midfa.
In addition, he stated to "Sharjah 24" that Sharjah International Airport had accomplished a great deal in 2022, the most significant of which was passenger service, as passenger numbers had returned to pre-Corona pandemic levels. In 2022, the airport served more than 13 million passengers, a significant increase from 2021, and according to his estimates, this figure will increase by another 5 percent in 2023.

In spite of the many difficulties, Al Midfa said, the Sharjah International Airport Authority wants Sharjah Airport to be among the top five regional airports.
