Sharjah24: Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) , chaired on Tuesday the council’s meeting at Sharjah Ruler’s office.
During its meeting, SEC discussed various government issues covering various sectors, and discussed ways to develop government services and enhance the emirate's achievements through modern development projects and initiatives.
SEC issued a decision on regulating the percentage of exemption from traffic violations in the Emirate of Sharjah, which aims to establish a mechanism that contributes to regulating the use of services for deducting fines from the value of violations and early payment, and enhancing compliance with traffic laws.
According to the decision, which will be implemented from April 1, 2023, traffic offenders will be exempted by 35% if they pay within 60 days from the date of the violation; the exemption includes a financial fine, a vehicle impoundment allowance, and all delay fines .
The offenders of traffic violations are exempted by 25% if they pay after 60 days have passed and before one year has passed from the date of the violation, and the exemption includes the financial fine only.
According to the decision, the payment of the financial fine for the violation, the allowance for impounding the vehicle and the delay fine will be made in full if the violator pays after one year from the date of the traffic violation. The decision excludes the application of the exemption for severe traffic violations.
SEC approved the first batch of beneficiaries of residential and investment lands for the year 2023, with a total of 1,500 beneficiaries which comes in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at enhancing the stability of the Emirati family and providing decent living.
The plots of land were distributed in cities and regions of the emirate, including 765 residential plots, and 735 commercial and industrial investment plots, after the beneficiaries fulfilled the conditions.
The council discussed to expand the Sharjah Healthy City Program project . The project aims to implement the standards of the Global Healthy Cities Program, achieve sustainable development goals related to health and environmental systems, and enhance partnership with government institutions and health authorities to improve the quality of services.
The report included the experience of the city of Sharjah in joining the Healthy Cities Network, international standards for joining, and effective partnerships with international health organizations.
The council directed the continuation of work with official committees to study the standards in the cities and regions of the Emirate and to work on upgrading them until they are ready to join the global healthy cities network.
