SEC issues decision on safety of petroleum pipelines

Sharjah 24: Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired, on Tuesday, the SEC meeting held in the Sharjah Ruler’s Office.
This came in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the SEC.  



The meeting discussed general government issues and took the necessary decisions that would develop and improve government services and enhance the leading position of the Emirate of Sharjah in various fields.

The SEC issued a decision regarding the safety of pipelines for petroleum and hydrocarbon materials in the Emirate of Sharjah. 



The decision aims to ensure the competence of pipelines in the Emirate to reduce the risks of accidents and environmental threats that may result from them.

The decision includes the terms of reference of the Petroleum Council to implement the provisions of the decision, the obligations of operators, along with violations and penalties resulting from non-compliance with the decision.



The SEC reviewed the report of the participation of the Emirate of Sharjah as a guest of honour in the International Book Fair in Mexico, during which the fair celebrated Sharjah and its cultural project led by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Through its pavilion, which was visited by 500,000 visitors, Sharjah presented a wide range of activities, programmes, sessions, seminars and works that reflect the Emirati culture, history and great heritage, in addition to displaying many Arabic books and publications in various fields.



During its participation, Sharjah presented 27 events and cultural sessions in cooperation with 23 Emirati institutions, cultural bodies and academies, in addition to heritage, artistic, musical and theatrical performances, and 4,500 translated books were acquired in the pavilion.
