Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), during its weekly meeting chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the SEC, reviewed the report of the outputs of the Business Continuity Committee in the Emirate.
This came in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the SEC, at the Sharjah Ruler's Office.



The meeting discussed a number of governmental issues on the agenda, reviewed the progress of work in the various departments and authorities of the Emirate of Sharjah, and followed up the completion of various development projects in all cities and regions.

The SEC discussed the report of the outputs of the Business Continuity Committee in the Emirate of Sharjah. The report included the objectives of the local committee at the Emirate level, which is cooperation between government entities to establish and implement the national standard for business continuity, build local capacities and capabilities, achieve the highest levels of readiness and support the emergency, crisis and disaster management system in government entities.



The report also included the outputs of the business continuity management programme in government entities, which aims to form specialised work teams to manage business continuity in the local authorities, qualify the cadres in the work teams in the authorities by involving them in specialised training programmes, and follow-up and evaluate the readiness of the entities to manage business continuity according to the national standard.



The SEC appreciated the high level reached by the business continuity system in the Emirate, stressing the need to continue developing work teams for government entities, and to include them within the business continuity management programme.

The SEC reviewed the annual report of the Sharjah International Airport Authority for the year 2022, which includes the achievements made during the past year in many areas, such as the number of passengers, aircraft movement, and the total volume of airfreight.



According to the report, Sharjah International Airport witnessed remarkable growth with the recovery phase from the COVID-19 pandemic, in comparison to the situation before the pandemic, in which the statistics showed an increase in the achieved numbers compared to the year 2019.

The report also included development and expansion plans that the airport is working on, including the development of various facilities with the best specifications and standards, and work to add many spaces, services and facilities that keep pace with the significant growth in passenger and aircraft traffic witnessed by the airport.



The report included many of the achievements of Sharjah International Airport, such as international awards and accreditation programmes from various specialised institutions, in addition to the initiatives and programmes organised by the airport and its international participation.

The SEC appreciated the efforts of Sharjah International Airport Authority in the continuous development of all airport services and systems and work to provide the best experience for passengers.
