APC highlights children’s right to participate in decision making

Sharjah24: As part of the work of the 1st meeting of the 3rd session of the Arab Parliament for Child (APC), which was held at the headquarters of the Sharjah Consultative Council, the children discussed children’s right to participate in decision making in all matters, highlighting the role of educational curricula extra-curricular activities, and the family in building the child to make his own decisions.

The session was chaired by Kuwaiti Janan Jaber Al Sharif, President of the Arab Parliament for Child (APC), and was assisted in managing the session by the Palestinian Hala Jahlil, the First Vice-President of the Arab Parliament for the Child, and the Moroccan Heba Allah Al-Alami, the Second Vice-President, in the presence of His Excellency Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of the APC.

The session underscores the great interest in protecting the rights of children, providing them with pioneering thinking to be future leaders, providing them with all means of care and protection, and enabling them to share their opinions and make decisions.

A number of APC’s male and female members presented a number of their opinions and recommendations in this regard, shedding light on the significance of the involvement of children in various aspects of life, in light of the wise leadership’s vision to promote children’s rights by adopting various platforms through which different children can express their opinions.
