Sharjah24: The Kalimat Foundation's ARA initiative, in partnership with the Emirates Schools Establishment and the University Dental Hospital Sharjah, organised a workshop in honour of Inclusive Education Month at Al Nouf Elementary School in Sharjah designed to educate and inspire children to embrace inclusivity and diversity.
The workshop hosted blind and visually impaired children alongside their sighted peers, handicapped and autistic children, and those with learning disabilities.
The attendees were treated to a reading session featuring the accessible book "I Have An Appointment," which tells the story of a child who overcame his fear of doctors. Inspired by the book, the children attended a fun awareness session, conducted by the doctors of University Dental Hospital Sharjah to promote dental health and hygiene, followed by complimentary check-ups and gifts at an on-site mobile clinic. The school’s board honoured Kalimat Foundation and University Dental Hospital Sharjah for their endless dedication to serve the children.
Inclusive education is an integral component of a well-rounded educational system, and it complements the vision and mission of Kalimat Foundation in upholding the rights of every child to equally access resources of knowledge, learn, develop, and integrate better into society.
