Sharjah24: The Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah (DIAS) inaugurated the "Martyr Sami Muhammad Ali Mubarak Al-Marzouqi" mosque in the Khuzamiyeh area in the city of Sharjah.
The new mosque located along the airport road and can accommodate more than 1,100 worshipers, both male and female, which was implemented as part of the department’s plan for the current year to facilitate the residents of the emirate to perform rituals and worship, and as a continuation of the approach that the Emirate of Sharjah follows according to the vision and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The inauguration was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Yarouf Al-Sabousi, Head of the Department of Islamic Affairs, accompanied by the donor to build the mosque, a number of officials, and the people of the region.
The attendees toured the mosque and listened to an explanation from the project’s executors about its facilities, which were built according to the Islamic architectural style, and topped by two minarets with a height of 45 meters and 5 circular domes. Its construction took into account the use of the best modern standards that contribute to preserving the environment, as it works with modern systems to rationalize consumption energy and water.
The mosque was built on a total land area of 4,208 square meters, which includes the chapel and its service facilities such as ablution, toilets, parking for cars, housing for the imam, and a public library for reading. The chapel can accommodate more than 1,100 worshipers, including 130 for the women’s chapel.
His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Yarouf Al-Sabousi, Head of the Department of Islamic Affairs, praised the efforts of benefactors in the emirate and what they offer in order to construct and care for mosques, praying to the Almighty to reward with the best reward for what they have done.
