Sharjah 24: The College of Communication at Al Qasimia University (AQU) celebrated World Radio Day, which falls on February 13 of each year, as UNESCO devoted this year to the theme (Radio and Peace).
During the celebration, the college honoured the team of the “Direct Line” programme at the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority and Mohammed Saleh Al Awadi.
His Excellency Dr. Hisham Abbas, Dean of the College of Communication, conveyed the thanks and appreciation of His Excellency Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of the AQU, to all radio broadcasters for their efforts in spreading knowledge, pointing out that celebrating this day promotes the media values advocated by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
For their part, the students of the College of Communication presented a message of appreciation to His Excellency Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, highlighting the great roles that radio plays in serving the community.
On the same level, Mohammed Saleh expressed his thanks and appreciation for this honour, and praised the high capabilities of the College of Communication at AQU, and the distinguished level of its students.
