Sharjah 24: More than 50 elderly people, owners of national farms, participated in the Farmers’ Forum, which is organised by the Sharjah Cooperative Society for the third time in a row, and will continue until January 29, at the Rahmania Mall.
The forum was attended by a number of representatives of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Sharjah Economic Development Department, the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Sharjah Asset Management - the investment arm of the Sharjah government.
His Excellency Majid Salem Al Junaid, CEO of the Sharjah Cooperative Society, stated that the society seeks, through this forum, to support local farmers, highlight their efforts and help them display their agricultural crops, and contribute to selling and marketing them, through the society’s branches, pointing out that the forum represents a platform to gather farmers in one place, allowing them to exchange ideas and experiences that would develop the agricultural sector.
The participating farmers appreciated the support of the Sharjah Cooperative Society for them, stressing the importance of having marketing outlets to display their agricultural products, pointing to the role of the forum in bringing farmers together with consumers in one place.
The Sharjah Cooperative Society urged all shoppers to take advantage of the promotional offers accompanying the forum on the various varieties of local vegetables and fruits.
