For the first time ever in the Arab world, HoWhosted a 100-day exhibition celebrating the life and works of renowned 20th-century Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Titled 'Frida and Me,' the exhibition aimed to engage children and their families through a series of interactive activities and 13 educational devices, which were designed to allow children to explore various aspects of art while learning about the artist's life and the sources of inspiration that shaped her work. The exhibition featured six distinct themes, providing a comprehensive look at the many influences that shaped Kahlo's artistic journey.
In conjunction with the exhibition, HoW organised a series of workshops to enable young visitors to hone their artistic abilities, ignite their passion and creativity, and expand their knowledge.
Marwa Al Aqroubi, HoW Executive Director , stated, "We are thrilled to have organized and hosted an exhibition that not only engaged visitors of all ages, but also introduced them to international experiences and influential individuals and creatives who have inspired others in the fields of drawing, writing, and other creative sectors. We in HoW are committed to providing a platform for such meaningful and educational experiences."
She added, "'Frida and Me' embodies HoW's mission to connect with the public and strengthen their connection with arts and culture. We equally strive to provide unique opportunities for visitors to gain experiences and skills in an interactive environment that brings together art enthusiasts."
