Arab Cultural Club hosts talk about Arabic in Somalia

Sharjah24: The Arab Cultural Club in Sharjah hosted a lecture titled "The Arabic language and its cultural dimensions: Somali language as a model" yesterday evening, in the presence of the club's director and an intellectual audience. Somali researcher Dr Abdel Fattah Nour Ahmed delivered the lecture. The lecture was moderated by Dr Muhammad Al-Amin Al-Simlali.
Dr Abdel-Fattah Nour Ahmed remarked that, given the origins of the Somali tribes, the proximity of Somalia to the Arabian Peninsula, and the close relationship between it and the Arabic language, the lecture also revealed several parallels in poetry and rhyming.
