Sultan bin Ahmed inaugurates 4th Strategic Conference of UOS

Sharjah24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, inaugurated on Thursday morning, the fourth strategic annual conference, titled "Employment Opportunities and a Sustainable Future for the University of Sharjah".
The conference was held at the Sharjah Shooting and Golf Club, which was began with the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates and the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a visual presentation displaying the history of the establishment of the University of Sharjah and the most prominent accomplishments and figures that have been achieved over the past 25 years, in addition to the majors that the university offers to students.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi welcomed the attendees during his speech, and expressed his pride of the University of Sharjah’s achievements , which the University has become one of the 300 best universities in the world and the first in the country.

The President of the University of Sharjah indicated that the success is measured by the doubling of the number of students and graduates, who have reached nearly 40,000 graduates from various majors, and they reflect their enlightening information and professional skills in their field of work. 
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed stated that the conference will address the improvement of the educational and teaching environments for our children, who will be our future leaders by supplying them with the best specialized sciences and contemporary knowledge. This will be accomplished with the coordinated efforts of the educational, industrial, community, and governmental sectors, as the graduates will enter the various labor markets and reflect  their skills and knowledge. 
At the end of his speech, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed affirmed  that the outcomes of the conference are significant , as it hosts a number of speakers representing government sectors, industry and business organizations, who provide advice and insights on the future of employment, as the university works to develop processes and methods in line with the challenges posed by the future of employment.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education, praised in his speech the conference of the university as it is a living example of a leading educational institution in the field of scientific research, in addition to its relentless pursuit of cooperation with foreign universities to develop the university educational system.
Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, reviewed the university’s strategy 2030 aiming to join the top 200 universities in the world and rise the percentage of Emiratisation of the teaching staff to reach 25%, in addition to making the University of Sharjah the first academic institution in the country in terms of  research cooperation with the industry sector, community service and development through applied scientific research.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi honoured  the Faculty of Medicine with the “Change Award” for the best strategic performance, which is awarded to the highest colleges for strategic performance, based on performance indicators during the last academic year and self-evaluation.
On the sidelines of the conference, the President of the University of Sharjah witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the University of Sharjah, the Dubai Health Authority and Ibn Sina Pharmacy, during which the parties are committed to training pharmacy students in order to meet the needs of society.

The conference was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education; Dr. Mansour bin Nassar, Head of the Legal Department of the Sharjah Government; Dr. Khaled Omar Al Midfa, President of Sharjah Media City; Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, and a number of Members of the university's board of trustees, deputy directors, and members of the administrative and teaching staff.
