The festival's performances are inspired by the desert landscape and incorporate innovative theatrical experiences, performance arts, and traditional narratives developed by Bedouin culture. The festival takes place at the Al Kahif area, in a setting that resembles a desert settlement.
The Emirati production "Sallum Al Arab," written by Sultan Al Neiyadi, directed by Mohammed Al Ameri, and produced by the Sharjah National Theater Group, kicks off the festivities, with the involvement of some of the country's most notable theatre actors.
The festival's performances end on Tuesday (December 13th), and it offers daily critique sessions to shed light on the technical elements of the participating performances, and to discuss their issues and approaches.
