Sharjah24: The Sharjah Volunteer Center (SVC) in the Sharjah Social Service Department (SSSD) signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Sharjah (UoS) , aiming to strengthen the cooperation between the two parties, developing the progress and prosperity of the Emirate of Sharjah, through promoting volunteerism among the students.
The agreement, which was signed on Monday, at the University of Sharjah headquarters, stipulates the consolidation of joint cooperation, through adopting joint activities, projects, initiatives and opportunities. The agenda of opportunities will be presented through the SCVW’s social media platform including Instagram, Telegram, etc., as well as holding semi-annual meetings.
The agreement also highlighted the joint cooperation in producing a documentary film that displays the local and international knowledge experiences, as the best local and international practices for volunteer work, with cooperating to spread the culture of volunteering in society through joint programs.
According to the agreement, the University of Sharjah is committed to inviting the academic and student staff to register as new volunteers in the Sharjah platform for volunteer work, in addition to activating the role of male and female students in the field of volunteer work.
The agreement was signed by Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Community Cohesion at the SSSD, and Prof. Eid Mohammad Kanaan, Dean of Student Affairs in the University of Sharjah.
