Sharjah24: Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” organized “E entrepreneurship Opportunities & Challenges” seminar in the Department’s main building.
This is done in order to enhance the role of the Department in the field of supporting national sectors and entrepreneurs, and providing an investment environment that incubates and stimulates entrepreneurship as one of the engines of the future knowledge-based economy and the locomotive of the national economy towards diversification, competitiveness and sustainable growth. Number of entrepreneurs, investors and a number of HCT students attended the seminar.
The seminar dealt with number of topics such as e-commerce and its future, in addition to its indicators, which made a huge quantum leap in trade, and managed to change the culture of buying around the world, and purchasing behaviors. It is also characterized as beneficial to both individuals, companies and society alike. During the workshop, an explanation was presented of the procedures for obtaining an e-commerce license from SEDD, and the means of support that motivate them to invest their capabilities and talents in economic activities.
The seminar included presentations of successful e-entrepreneurship projects in the emirate. During it, Mr. Hamad Al Shamsi, owner of 7MD Store, discussed the reality of e-commerce and its management by reviewing his experience in this field.
Commenting on that, His Excellency Sultan bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, affirmed that the Department is concerned about empowering young entrepreneurs by providing them with knowledge and experience and strengthening the bonds of cooperation between them. This will help to enhance Sharjah’s position, which is a gateway to many emerging markets, and is considered a valuable opportunity for the development and growth of many entrepreneurs. Likewise, HE indicated that SEDD pays great attention preparing and implementing economic plans for the emirate, conducting studies, and developing investment systems that support entrepreneurs. Also, it focuses on providing the appropriate climate for investment by simplifying and facilitating procedures for investors, offering the needed developments and requirements of entrepreneurship in light of a competitive work environment, and enhancing their skills and capabilities in the field of entrepreneurship.
Al Suwaidi said that Sharjah has many capabilities that enabled it to build an integrated business system, strong economic relations, and establish partnerships in various sectors. This has provided a solid foundation for aspiring entrepreneurs to expand into global markets and access venture capitalists in emerging economic fields.
