Khaled bin Mohamed attends opening of Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Member of Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Office, has attended the opening ceremony of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which is being held under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Khaled also awarded medals to the winners of the top three spots of the Youth category during the event.

Organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, the 14th edition of the event is taking place at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Zayed Sports City until 19th November.

More than 5,000 participants from around the world are taking part at the event across multiple categories including youth, professional, masters and para-jiu-jitsu.

The event follows Abu Dhabi’s hosting of the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship earlier in the month, and further strengthens the emirate’s position as the global capital of jiu-jitsu.

Sheikh Khaled was accompanied by Abdel Moneim Al Hashemi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Sheikh Zayed bin Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice, Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Office of the Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, Dr. Mohamed Rashed Al Hameli, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of Ministry of Finance, and Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
