Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed listened to an explanation of the future plans and programmes of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MEI), which aim to develop and implement the latest standards of energy rationalization by developing initiatives that preserve the sustainable environment.
Chairman of the Oil Council was briefed on the efforts made by the Ministry in environmental sustainability and confronting the phenomenon of climate change, its future goals, effective steps and procedures, and qualitative and ambitious initiatives that support the country's march towards global leadership in the field of sustainability and climate change.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed also listened to the delegation's talk about the objectives of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure that keep pace with the government directions of the United Arab Emirates, and its qualitative projects in the energy sector, and the future foundations and priorities that will be focused on.
The meeting dealt with opportunities for cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Oil Council in terms of hiring university students in the emirate to work on programmes that serve the energy sector and its projects.
In the end of the meeting, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed received a copy of the book "The Geological Development of the United Arab Emirates" issued by the ministry, which is considered the first reference in the Arabic language for the geology of the UAE , during a period of more than 600 million years of geological history.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of the Oil Council; Eng. Hatem Muhammad Diab Al Mousa, Secretary General of the Oil Council; Ahmed Muhammad Al Kaabi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Petroleum, Gas and Mineral Resources Sector and Yousef Al Ali, Assistant Undersecretary for Electricity, Water and Future Energy Affairs.
