Sharjah 24: On the occasion of Italy being selected as the Guest of Honour for this year's edition of the 41st Sharjah International Book Fair (ISBF), "Sharjah 24" spoke with Amedeo Scarpa, Trade Commissioner at the Italian Embassy, about Italy's involvement, the bilateral connections between Sharjah and Italy, and Sharjah's role in supporting culture and the written word.
Scarpa grasped the opportunity to encourage the public to stop by the Italian pavilion to learn more about the country's culture and traditions.
As he put it, "Italy is the guest of honour country at the 41st Sharjah International Book Fair, so Sharjah and Italy are ready to enhance their cultural and literary collaboration, thanks to the efforts of the Italian trade agency, the Embassy of Italy, and the Italian cultural authorities, all of whom partnered to create not only this Italian Pavilion but also bring to Sharjah a plethora of writers, artists, performers, chefs, etc. Help get the word out and stop by the Italian pavilion during the 41st annual Sharjah International Book Fair."
