Sharjah 24: At the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, students from both public and private schools in Sharjah competed in the fifth annual Sharjah School Sports Championship (SSSC), as announced by Mohammed Ahmed Al Mulla, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Education Council.
He told "Sharjah 24" that the first round of the chess competition was over for the female category, and that the second stage, with 448 male and female students from 93 public and private schools in Sharjah, would conclude on Webnesday.
Al Mulla noted that chess contests boost student confidence and educate them on the value of making the right future decisions, and he highlighted that the Sharjah Education Council seeks from the event to equip students with sports skills that expand their abilities and competence.
