Sharjah 24 – WAM: Canada’s booth at the Sharjah International Book Fair, November 2 – 13, 2022, showcases 58 titles from 31 Canadian publishers, representing its diversity, its indigenous culture, the empowerment of women and girls, and sustainability. The booth aims to welcome visitors to experience Canada’s cultural diversity through literature.
Jean-Philippe Linteau, Consul General of Canada in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, said “Literary exchanges are a great way to foster people-to-people ties and improve inter-cultural understanding. Whether expressed in English or French, Canada’s literary canon reflects the values and diversity of the Canadian experience.”

“This year, the majority of the titles in the Canada booth are targeted to a young audience, reflecting Canada’s leadership in nurturing children’s literature and literacy for the next generation. We encourage families to stop by the Canada booth to discover Canada through the eyes of our talented authors and illustrators.”

“Canada is very pleased to take part again at this year’s Sharjah International Book Fair, recognizing that it has become one of the world’s top publishing events. This success is due to the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and of Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority.”

Canadian books are brought to the Sharjah International Book Fair in collaboration with Livres Canada Books, the national association of Canadian publishers. At the Canada booth, both visitors and business delegates will be able to learn more about Canadian books.
