The closing ceremony saw the presence of the Chairman of the Department of Culture, Abdullah Mohammed Al Owais; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qasir, Director of Cultural Affairs in the Department of Culture ; Aqil Mohammed Al Khawaldih, Director of the Directorate of Culture of Irbid Governorate; the poet Akram Al Zu'bi, President of the Jordanian Writers Association; Director of the Mafraq Poetry House; and Faisal Al Sarhan, the educated and poetry lovers.
Al Khawaldih said, "Thanks to the visions of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah aimed at raising the creativity level of Arab writers and intellects, and his constant endeavour to support serious cultural initiatives, Sharjah today is an ideal model for cities that incubate culture and arts and support Arab initiatives aimed at preserving the nation's heritage and identity.”
The poets who took part in the event lauded Sharjah for its efforts to foster creativity and innovation, as well as for its unwavering dedication to and interest in the literary arts.
