Sharjah 24: Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler's Office in Kalba, commended the efforts of the Sharjah Sports Council in organising sporting events and activities in various cities and regions of the emirate, to spread the culture of practicing sports and make it a way of life.
Sheikh Haitham Al Qasimi’s words came at the close of the first edition of AL Hefaiyah Padel Tournament held under his patronage at the Padel Shot Stadiums in Kalba on Friday and Saturday.
Also present at the closing of the two-day tournament were Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, a number of officials and representatives of sports clubs, and a crowd of fans.
Speaking exclusively to “Sharjah 24”, Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr said that the Padel Tennis is one of the new games in the UAE and the Eastern Region, pointing out that the tournament received a remarkable interaction from the people of Kalba in its first edition.
Concluding his statement, Sheikh Haitham stated that the city of Kalba is witnessing a qualitative leap and occupying a prominent position on the map of sports events nationwide.
