The Sharjah Police confirms that beggars take advantage of people's giving and their desire to do good, and invent false and misleading tricks in order to win the sympathy of community members to get money, and some engage in beggary business by selling counterfeit and fraudulent products or other ways of begging, warning against dealing with these groups or other street vendors, stressing that the country has established official channels for charitable work to ensure that donations reach those who deserve them.
Affirming that anti-begging campaigns have borne fruit of reducing the negative phenomenon, Sharjah Police stressed that such campaigns will continue without interruption by specialised teams working during the hour, to enhance security and safety, and achieve the security to the UAE community.
The Sharjah Police called on community members to contribute to the elimination of these phenomena on the basis of social responsibility, by donating through approved charitable associations and institutions, and cooperating with the security services by immediately reporting any beggar who is monitored on any website on the toll-free number (901) or via police website www.shjpolice.gov.ae or through the Sharjah Police smart application
