Sharjah24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, on Thursday inaugurated, the work of fourth regular session of the 10th legislative term of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
Upon his arrival at the council's headquarters, the Crown Prince of Sharjah was received by, Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, Sheikh Salem bin AbdulRahman Al Qasimi, Head of the Ruler's Office, and Sheikh Muhammad bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Head of the Department of Statistics and community development, His Excellency Abdullah bin Muhair Al Ketbi, Minister of Federal Supreme Council Affairs, His Excellency Ali Mehd Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SCC, and a number of senior officials, members of the Executive Council, heads of government departments, former heads of the Consultative Council, and a number of officials and members of the Federal National Council.
The ceremony began with the arrival of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah to Sharjah Consultative Council Hall and playing of the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, after which the attendees listened to a verses of the Holy Quran.
The Crown Prince of Sharjah delivered a speech, in which he said: “We are pleased to meet you today on the occasion of the opening work of Sharjah Consultative Council in its last session of 10th legislative term, which witnessed many exceptional events, circumstances and procedures, but with the grace of God, then our wise leadership, and the efforts of the loyal, we were able to transcend all circumstances and moving forward towards what they aspire the good for this country, its children and those residing on its land.”
Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi stressed the important role of SCC within the government work system of the emirate and the cooperation between various authorities, under the generous care and unlimited attention of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah since the announcement of the launch of its work, and achieving integration and balance between the legislative and executive authorities, under the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.
Then, Sharjah CP authorised the convening of Sharjah Consultative Council in its fourth regular session of 10th legislative term, saying: “In the name of God and upon God’s blessing and on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, we announce the opening of this session, wishing success to all.”
At the end of his speech, His Highness the Crown Prince of Sharjah called on God to protect the UAE, its president, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his brothers the rulers, members of the Federal Supreme Council.
After that, the Secretary-General of Sharjah Consultative Council, His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, read Emiri Decree No. 59 of 2022 regarding the invitation of the Council to convene in its fourth regular session of the 10th legislative term.
His Excellency Ali Mehd Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Consultative Council, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the Crown Prince of Sharjah, praising the Crown Prince's opening of the council's session.
After the opening ceremony, Sharjah Consultative Council held its first procedural session headed by His Excellency Ali Mehd Al Suwaidi, during which the Council discussed the formation of the permanent committees of the Council, the laws issued in the absence of the Council were reviewed, as well as the consideration of the draft law submitted to the Council by Sharjah Executive Council, which is a draft law on amending the real estate registration law in the Emirate to be included in the work of the next session, which will be held on October 20.
