In a lively 'Actors Meetup' session held yesterday evening at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, the popular TV actor emphasised the importance of presenting well-crafted content for children as the young generations are today exposed to a wide range of content on social media.
Sharing his artistic journey with an enthusiastic audience, Al Bukishi said it was a teacher at school who first encouraged him to explore the field of radio broadcasting, where he learned the basics of working with the microphone and how to present himself in front of a camera. Later, he began to explore theatre at the Ras Al Khaimah National Theatre, a prominent cultural institution.
He said: "We worked with the founders, senior actors and playwrights, learned from them, and benefited from their varied experiences and genuine passion for the arts. Even in those days, the UAE was making great efforts to build a new generation of media professionals and artists."
Sharing valuable lessons with aspiring young actors in the audience, he said: "In this line of work, commitment and dedication are a must. We put all our hard work and energy into adding depth and credibility to the roles and characters we play to ensure the work's success."
He thanked the organisers and patrons of SIFF for enriching and developing the festival with every annual edition.
At the conclusion of the session, the Emirati actor advised the youth: "Knowledge is key; we must educate ourselves through workshops, and any other means possible."
He added: "Without the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, we wouldn't be standing here today. His Highness' support has made us capable of competing and winning awards in festivals around the world."
