Al-Johar, Riad to headline new Khorfakkan concert

Sharjah 24: The new #Lets Khorfakkan season of concerts opens yet again with a distinctive Khaleeji (Gulf) musical evening, bringing together the legendary Saudi artist, Abadi Al-Johar and the popular Iraqi singer, Rahma Riad, on Friday, November 4 at the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, the new Arab-Roman architectural masterpiece and artistic landmark on Sharjah’s east coast.
Fans of the Khaleeji and Iraqi music can order their tickets online on the popular ticketing website www.platinumlist.net, to have their seats reserved in various categories well in time. 

The opening concert of the new #Lets Khorfakkan season promises to be a treat for senses as Abadi Al-Johar, the veteran Saudi composer, singer and performer, celebrated as the ‘Ikhtaboot Al Oud,’ presents a rich bouquet of his most popular songs, reliving the magical journey of more than half a century in which he came up with as many as 53 albums.

Bringing together generations
With his uniquely rich voice and hauntingly beautiful numbers, Abadi has been able to entertain and win the hearts of millions and unite two generations of music lovers in the Arab world. He is renowned for songs such as “I love her”, “I deserve you”, “Al-Jarh Arhama”, “I keep my promises”, “Ayounak”, “Zaman Awal,” “Khalas,” “Come back" and numerous others. 

In addition to the title of Ikhtaboot Al Oud (The Octopus of the Oud) conferred on him by the late Talal Al Maddah for his mastery of oud, Abadi has also won a number of other titles including the Ambassador of Sadness and the Musician of the Arabian Peninsula etc.

Looking forward to reuniting with his legion of fans in Sharjah and the UAE, Abadi Al-Johar said he couldn’t wait to perform in the city of Khorfakkan on Sharjah’s beautiful east coast. “I am excited to perform at the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre in an environment that celebrates art and artists and is keen to protect our great and diverse musical heritage. 

Rahma Riad celebrates the Gulf and Iraqi colours 
Young Iraqi singer Rahma Riad, who burst on the Arab musical scene with her debut on the ‘Arab Superstar’ contest in 2010, joins the veteran Abadi Al-Jawhar on stage. Rahma has established herself as a singer who celebrates the diverse colours of Iraqi and Arab musical traditions.

The young artist has been able to gain much public love and following after the success of her song "Waad Menni". She is also known for popular songs such as "Moo Galata", "Ila I Akllohm", "Mako Mani", "Al Kawkab" and "I Challenge You". In 2022, she released her song "Assa' Al-Qamr".

Rahma said, "I am honoured to be part of the artistic evening in Khorfakkan and share stage with the legendary Abadi Al-Johar. I thank the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre management for making me part of an artistic event that has a footprint in the region and attracts an audience who genuinely loves the Arabic song."
