The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam as well as Dr. Samir Boudinar, the Executive Director of the Al-Hokama Center for Peace and Research, attended the seminar in addition to a delegation from the Ministry of Tolerance headed by Afra Al-Saberi, the Ministry's General Director.
During the seminar, Judge Abdelsalam praised the UAE's major role in promoting peace, tolerance and human fraternity around the world, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also emphasised on the collective responsibility all people have towards achieving coexistence and human fraternity while pointing to Islam’s major role in achieving human fraternity through its peaceful and tolerant teachings.
For her part, Al-Saberi said that the UAE has fast become a role-model in spreading tolerance on local and regional levels. These efforts, she added, are a continuation on the path set by the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and that tolerance is a way of life for all the residents of the United Arab Emirates.
This is the Muslim Council of Elders’ first participation at the 7th Arabic Book Fair in Istanbul, which comes as part of His Eminence the Grand Imam’s vision of promoting dialogue and spreading tolerance and peace around the world.
