SIFF to host 34 workshops on creative process of filmmaking

SIFF, organised by FUNN, the Sharjah-based entity that promotes media arts learning among children and youth, aims to empower the young generation and foster a lifelong appreciation of film as art through a vibrant agenda of interactive workshops hosted at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, Sharjah.

Led by industry experts with vast knowledge and experience, the diverse array of 34 workshops organised at the 9th SIFF offers new opportunities for children and youth to explore and use media in various forms and gain insights into various aspects of filmmaking.  
 
Participants will discover the art of animation and anime, explore the techniques of VLOG and video, learn about scenario and script writing, film budgeting, sound effects and post-production, and build the skills to deliver powerful messages through inspired sessions on film directing. The workshops at SIFF 2022 will also be a platform to experiment with augmented reality technologies and bring inanimate illustrations to life. 

Workshops led by “Adwar” Arabic Theatre Club will enable children to explore acting techniques through fun and entertaining activities. Nikon will equip young participants with basic video skills essential to start shooting for a film and lead them on a step-by-step journey of the details involved in filmmaking. Budding filmmakers will also be introduced to the techniques of VLOG shooting with tips and tricks designed to express themselves creatively through the medium.

Abu Dhabi-based Creative Lab will enable children to discover their creative potential and bring their artistic expressions to life through an exploration into various film genres. Participants will learn how filmmakers use various elements to their advantage to make better films in each genre. 

SIFF’s filmmaking workshops aim to enhance creativity and  imagination and help build critical thinking skills while also equipping participants with a diverse range of hard skills that go into creating a visual masterpiece.
