Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD) held the fifth edition of "Miles Ruwad", which it organised in cooperation with the University of Sharjah under the title "Ruwad Virtual Incubator", with the participation of 30 students and a number of entrepreneurs from the foundation's members.
“Miles Ruwad” discussed the opportunities and privileges offered by the virtual incubator and its role in supporting entrepreneurial ideas and transforming them into commercial and service projects. “Miles Ruwad” also witnessed a review of the success stories of a number of emerging projects from members of "Ruwad", with the aim of transferring and exchanging expertise and experiences among project owners, male and female students participating in the discussion.

Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Director of "Ruwad", said that organising (Miles Ruwad) aims to develop open discussion sessions with university students in order to develop and encourage a culture of entrepreneurship among young people, and to raise awareness of the services and privileges provided by the Foundation to support Emirati male and female entrepreneurs and provide an incubating environment for the establishment and growth of their projects.

He added that the fifth edition of (Miles Ruwad) highlights the importance of business incubators and the services they provide, and targets, in its programme, university and college graduates, students in the last two years before graduation, in addition to entrepreneurs to encourage them to enter the world of entrepreneurship and self-employment, and to benefit from the facilities and support provided by the virtual incubator.

In addition, (Miles Ruwad) hosted a number of existing project owners to review their success stories, where the project owners provided an overview of the ways to plan commercial projects, the steps of establishment, the most important challenges they faced and ways to overcome them, and the opportunities offered by business centres and incubators in the country and their role in supporting them enabling them to continue their business.

The session also included an open discussion between entrepreneurs and university students about the transformations that the business environment is witnessing today in light of the successive technological developments and the resulting shifts in production methods and changes in consumption behaviours and patterns, which in turn created new business models through electronic applications and social media platforms and others.

The "Ruwad Virtual Incubator" is one of the main initiatives of "Ruwad", which was developed with the aim of encouraging male and female students in the final academic years and graduates to enter the field of entrepreneurship, and providing them with an opportunity to establish their businesses on the new virtual platforms.
