Sharjah 24: Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), affirmed her pride in the achievements of persons with disabilities and their ability to innovate in various fields.

Since its inception in 1979, the SCHS has believed in these energies and their capabilities and worked to empower, educate and integrate them according to the best international practices.

This came on the occasion of the honourable and distinguished participation of the SCHS within the sixth edition of the Awladna International Forum for Arts of the Gifted, organised by the Awladna Foundation for Arts of the Gifted in Egypt, during the period from 15 to 21 September 2022, with the participation of delegations from 34 Arab and foreign countries.

Her Excellency praised the organisation of the Awladna Foundation for Arts of the Gifted, and the SCHS’s fruitful participation in it. Her Excellency was awarded a certificate of appreciation for her efforts.

In the forum, Her Excellency also presented a workshop on the principles of self-advocacy, in the presence of a large number of participants, in which she spoke about the importance of self-advocacy, and speaking on behalf of people who cannot protect themselves, to lead the movement for change and raise community awareness on their rights.
