Sharjah 24: The 29th Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre will take place from September 1st through the 8th, 2022, and the Arab Theatre Authority (ATA) has signed a protocol of collaboration with the festival's management to help support and organise the event.
The protocol is a formalisation of the relationship that began in 2011 and resumed in 2016 through the support of festival events.
The cooperation this year includes rewarding the members of the jury of the grand competition, members of the jury of short shows, supporting the festival’s publications, supporting research and critical seminars, and festival workshops, in addition to supporting the dissemination of theses that was introduced this year.
With His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi,Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah's interest in fostering a vibrant cultural and theatrical scene in Egypt, Arab Theatre Authority Secretary-General Ismail Abdullah has stated that the authority will be providing support for the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre.
Ismail Abdullah praised the Egyptian Ministry of Culture for helping the festival grow and improve, as well as the festival's management, which wants to bring the event back to life and bring it to other governorates in Egypt.
