Sharjah 24: The teams of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, in cooperation with the security authorities and strategic partners, continue their efforts to tighten control over the situation in the Emirate of Fujairah, which has been exposed to the highest rate of rainwater in 30 years.
The Emirate of Fujairah is witnessing unremitting efforts to deal with the repercussions of the tropical situation that swept the eastern coast and the cities of the Eastern Region of the Emirate of Sharjah, which caused some damage in the form of some homes and vehicles.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority announced that specialised and professional security teams have been dealing with the current situation since Wednesday, explaining that there are no human losses as a result of the torrential rains that hit the Emirate.
The National Centre of Meteorology revealed that the Emirate of Fujairah was subjected to unprecedented torrential rains, as the Fujairah Port area recorded about 234 mm of rainwater, the highest rate the country has witnessed in nearly 30 years.
Brigadier General Ali Salem Al Tunaiji, Director General of Federal Central Operations at the Ministry of Interior, announced the shelter of about 3,800 affected individuals in the Emirate of Fujairah, in addition to rescuing and evacuating 870 stranded people as a result of the intense water flow.
In addition, 150 affected people were moved and housed in hotel units, where cooperation and coordination is taking place with about 20 hotel establishments, which provided about 827 hotel units to receive the affected people.
