Sharjah 24 – WAM: Saeed Thani Al Dhaheri, Ambassador of the UAE to the Republic of Turkey, participated in the 17th Turkish-Arab Economic Cooperation Summit, which addressed agriculture and food security and was organised by the Turkish-Arab Countries Business Association (TÜRAP) in Istanbul.
During his speech at the forum, Saeed Al Dhaheri underscored that UAE-Turkish relations have witnessed a new era of partnership and constructive cooperation based on common interests, stimulating mutual economic growth, and strengthening relations between the leaders of the two countries and peoples. This was reflected by the visit of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Turkey at the end of 2021, and the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the UAE in February 2022, which resulted in the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding in various fields.
Al Dhaheri reviewed the UAE's achievements in the field of food security, as the UAE advanced ten places on the Global Food Security Index by moving from 31st place in 2018 to 21st in 2019, noting that this reflects the government's efforts to strengthen the UAE's position as a leading country globally in innovation-based food security.
He called on companies to invest by taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the UAE market, noting that the UAE is one of the best countries for global investors to work and live in.
Moreover, Al Dhaheri stressed the importance of signing a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Turkey, which aims to double the volume of non-oil trade, stimulate mutual investments, and reinforce economic relations by creating additional opportunities for business communities in the two countries.
Al Dhaheri underscored that wide-ranging economic cooperation between the UAE and Turkey demonstrates the depth of bilateral relations, which are experiencing rapid growth.
He also remarked that business cooperation contributes to strengthening ties for further development and prosperity for both countries and their peoples.
