Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, is closely following up the annual, race which is organised by the Camel Racing Federation under the chairmanship of Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President.
The festival is one of the key heritage races held in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, being the foundation of all similar camel races in the region dating back 42 years ago, and continuing the legacy of the late Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The festival was inaugurated in 1980, and camel owners are keen to participate, given its history and heritage.
The festival's supreme organising committee, led by Sheikh Sultan, recently completed the final preparations for the event.
