Sharjah 24: Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW) concluded the activities of its annual Ramadan season, which this year included many activities and events.
Maryam Al Mazmi, Director of the Institutional Communication Centre, stated that Ramadan activities were distributed over the days of the holy month and aimed at introducing employees to the virtues of this holy month, deepening religious culture and Islamic customs and values. She added that Ramadan activities develop social communication and interaction among employees during this blessed month, in addition to developing their cultural and spiritual aspects through the events and activities that have been organised.
Al Mazmi confirmed that SDPW, in cooperation with the Department of Islamic Affairs, started its Ramadan activities by preparing electronic circulars to the employees and hosting two virtual lectures on the virtues of the holy month of Ramadan and the health of the fasting person, in addition to launching a cultural competition on the SDPW projects under the title 22*22 on the occasion of the twenty-second anniversary of its foundation.
Coinciding with Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, SDPW carried out a number of activities and distributed a number of Iftar meals to workers at Al Sajaa Labour Park in cooperation with the Labour Standards Development Authority and the Emirates Red Crescent, in commemoration of Sheikh Zayed memory, stressing that giving continues from the land of Zayed.
As part of the fruitful cooperation between SDPW and the community, a delegation of the directorate’s employees participated in the initiative launched by the Department of Social Services under the slogan “Khattar Al Dar” (guest of the house), which is a group iftar with senior citizens residing in the elderly care home in Sharjah. The initiative also included distributing gifts to the elderly and exchanging heritage, national and historical conversations.
