"Sharjah 24" takes you on a journey through history, during which the halls of the Centre show its precious possessions in 9 episodes on Sundays and Wednesdays of every week throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
Two and a half centuries ago is the age of the golden hour dedicated by Edward Ghaly to Sheikh Rashid bin Matar Al Qasimi, the leader of Al Qasimi tribe back then, who took it upon himself to fight the Salafist movement that spread in the land of al Qasimis in 1787, and was stationed in the town of Rams and Al Jazirah Al Hamra.
Sheikh Rashid Al Qasimi stepped down as ruler after 30 years of leadership passing the torch to his son Sheikh Saqr bin Rashid Al Qasimi, who could not eliminate the Salafist movement.
Sheikh Rashid then moved to the Persian coast, where the British residency is located in Abu Shahr. He was received in Lengeh by its citizens and British officials in the Gulf, whose existence was threatened by the Salafist movement.
