Sharjah24: Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre (AJRCC), the ultimate events destination in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, providing impeccable venue, catering and events solutions for social and corporate events such as weddings, meetings, conferences, exhibitions and all types of other events continues to strengthen its prominent position in the hospitality sector.
Thanks to the high-quality services it provides and expertise and professionalism of its team in organising and hosting various events while ensuring the safety of visitors in accordance with the precautionary measures prescribed by The local Sharjah Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team (SECDMT), the centre has been able to maintain a 99% customer satisfaction rate over the years despite all the changes and challenges that have occurred globally in the hospitality sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since its opening in 2013, Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, under the generous patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, it has welcomed 880,000 visitors and hosted 2,300 social and MICE events at the local and international levels.

Her Excellency Hanan Al Mahmoud, CEO of Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, said: “JRCC has proven its ability to maintain the confidence of the community in it during the recovery phase of the events market in the country. Our team of 153 employees has been keen to exert all its efforts to build a solid relationship based on trust and mutual transparency with our customers by providing outstanding level of luxury services in a safe environment”.

Al Mahmoud added: “Even with the change in customers’ buying patterns in terms of preferring to hold social events and gatherings with limited number of family members and friends, or preferring to host it in their homes, we were very committed to provide the highest level of services to satisfy our customers, and we adapted to this change by focusing on launching new hospitality services and products based on the demands and current market needs. We have also worked on expanding our collaboration with other government and sister organisations, to exchange experiences, consolidate bonds of cooperation and work together to enhance the status of the emirate”.

New Products

Keeping pace with the changes in the market trends and behaviours in the wake of the global pandemic, resulting in new customers’ demands and concepts and preference to spend time with families and friends, the centre launched various new and exclusive products in addition to providing stellar hospitality services inside and outside its halls, such as local and international dishes ready for takeaway, chocolate bonbon and luxury dates trays, afternoon tea stands, special cakes and pastries, sweets and savories boxes that will surely add a luxurious  touch to any intimate gatherings with family and friends in the privacy of their own homes.

Collaboration with Government Organisations

During this year, the centre strengthened its collaborations with local government entities, to achieve integration and mutual benefit. Some of the successfully organised projects in collaboration with Sharjah Youth Centers include “Event Management Basics”, a training programme about the basic process of event planning, culinary workshops and a series of educational cooking videos presented by Rami Abdou Al Jebraiel, Director of Culinary Affairs and Executive Chef of JRCC. These were posted on social media targeting young people over a period of 6 months with the aim of spreading health awareness and self-reliance among young people and encouraging them to prepare healthy recipes for family members, promoting a healthy lifestyle in the community and refining life skills.

The centre also cooperated with Sharjah Health Promotion Department under the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in producing healthy and calorie-counted recipes for the "Hilal Al Seha" campaign, which aims to spread awareness in the community to follow healthy alternative dishes during the holy month of Ramadan.

Another successful collaboration was with “Sharjah Children” where kids had a fun experience preparing and making delicious and nutritious smoothies and healthy drinks facilitated by Chef Rami Al Jebraiel. This virtual workshop was part of the organisation’s training programmes that aim to support the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah for the development of the individual and society.

Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre is dedicated to support its cadres and help develop their skills, which resulted in receiving more than 200 medals and awards in culinary arts in many local and international competitions.
