Deutsche Bahn trains dogs to help protect endangered species

December 28, 2021 / 9:10 AM
Sharjah24 – AFP: German rail operator Deutsche Bahn recruits six "wildlife detection dogs" to search for endangered species on construction sites and help accelerate infrastructure projects.
Commenting on this, Jens Bergmann, director for infrastructure projects at the network subsidy of Deutsche Bahn said, "The laws require us, before we carry out construction measures, before we impact nature and the environment, to determine whether species worthy of protection live there, and for which appropriate precautions have to be taken. Either they can be protected on site, or they have to be relocated to habitats that have to be created."
