Sharjah 24: Sharjah Media City (Shams) is showcasing its competitive advantages for starting enterprises and creating firms in a variety of economic sectors, most notably the media, during the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) organised by the Ministry of Culture and Youth at Expo 2020 Dubai.
Shams will take part in the conference, which began, on Tuesday, and will conclude, on Thursday, by evaluating the free zone's capabilities and opportunities for launching start-ups and fostering the growth of medium and small companies in the creative economy.
The WCCE is a platform for innovation and creativity and aims to exchange knowledge, ideas and challenges facing the creative economy, especially in light of the circumstances imposed by the repercussions of COVID-19, and to discuss new trends and solutions that ensure a more creative and sustainable future.
Dr. Khaled Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City (Shams), stated, "Shams is interested in expanding its circle of collaborations at all levels in order to strengthen its position in the UAE's and region's growing business scene. The creative industries are a critical pillar of Shams for promising advancement and providing full support for the media sector, and the WCCE is an ideal venue for showcasing the opportunities we have to enhance this sector, introducing Sham's leading role in the field, and encouraging companies and individuals to experience the inspiring business experience at Shams."
He continued, "We are not content with granting facilities for the establishment of businesses and companies; rather, we are working to be partners in their success and a key driver of their growth through a number of our pioneering initiatives that enable business owners and employees, as well as those interested from all segments of society, to expand their experiences and skills that will already be supporting their innovative efforts and contributions.”
Through its participation in the WCCE, Shams provides entrepreneurs competitive and exclusive packages that include commercial licences and other benefits that help their business system expand and thrive. This comprises a comedy show and unique musical acts.
